Transition probabilities in neutron deficient odd cesium and xenon nuclei

Abstract Six half-lives and upper limits of three half-lives of excited levels in 125, 127, 129 Cs and 123, 125 Xe have been measured. Some multipole mixing ratios of involved transitions have been determined. Reduced transition probabilities have been deduced and compared with single-particle estimates and with published theoretical values, in particular from IBFA calculations. B (M1) rates for 3 2 1 + → 1 2 1 + transitions in odd- N Xe isotopes are also discussed in connection with the problem of l -forbidden transitions.
