Analgesic action of enkephalinase inhibitor, D-phenylalanyl-2S,3R 3-amino-2-hydroxy-4-phenylbutanoic acid (D-Phe-AHPA)

Abstract D-Phe-AHPA, having actions of enkephalinase inhibition and enhancement of morphine analgesia, was tested to determine whether D-Phe-AHPA itself has analgesic activity. By the hot-plate test, 500 and 1000 mg/kg D-Phe-AHPA p.o. delayed the μMping time to 168%(p
