Method for treating sewage by constructing artificial wetland with vetiver grass

2012
The invention discloses a method for treating sewage by constructing an artificial wetland with vetiver grass, comprising the following specific steps: a, growing seedlings; b, constructing a wetland; and c, guiding the sewage. The bed wall and the bottom of the wetland constructed by the method disclosed by the invention are waterproof structures for preventing the sewage from leaking to pollute the underground water. Gangue, brick bats, coal cinder and gravel are used on the wetland bed as compound matrix to fill the wetland; the compound matrix is capable of adsorbing, filtering and stopping suspended solids in the sewage; the vetiver grass is planted at the row spacing of 40 cm*40 cm, so that enough space is remained for the vetiver grass to tiller and grow; and the vetiver grass may not grow sparsely. After the artificial wetland is constructed by the method disclosed by the invention, the removal effect on SS (Suspended Solids), TN (Total Nitrogen), COD (Chemical Oxygen Diode) and BOD (Biological Oxygen Diode) in domestic sewage is good, and the quality of the yielding water is up to the national drainage standard.
