Active superparamagnetic bead manipulation for immunoassays on-chip

We report on an innovative and integrated approach for the retention and active mixing of functionalized superparamagnetic beads in a PDMS/glass microchannel. The device was designed to improve antigen capture on the beads in a microfluidic sample flow. The end goal of our project is the development of a highly sensitive HIV-p24 protein assay [1].
