Using CAD Models in Transient Field Calculations through Arbitrarily Curved Surfaces

1998
In immersed transducer setups, curved interfaces affect the beam profile through their focusing or defocusing properties. While it is often possible to approximate the interface geometry by elementary shapes with constant curvature like cylinders or spheres in order to employ canonical solutions to account for the object geometry, a more general approach is needed if CAD descriptions serve as input data for the geometry.
