The invention relates to a round shank bit assembly including a bit, comprising a drill collar and a chisel tip, a collet and a locking ring. The invention further relates to a locking ring for such a round shank bit assembly and a kit comprising a clamping sleeve and a retaining ring. Another aspect of the invention resides in a method for securing a round shank chisel in a chisel holder against axial displacement.
