MODELING AND CONTROL OF A SPACECRAFT WITH MANOEUVRABLE FLEXIBLE BEAMS

A model of a spacecraft consisting of a rigid platform with manoeuvrable flexible appendages is obtained by the application of a finite element method. The model is used both for detailed simulations and for the synthesis of a control algorithm which enables manoeuvering of the flexible appendages without inducing elastic vibrations. A numerical example is presented.
