Estudos sobre os impactos ambientais envolvidos na utilização da técnica de fraturamento hidráulico na exploração do shale gas nos Estados Unidos

2015
The exploration of shale gas has been in evidence in recent years because the world is in need of new sources of energy resource. With the technological advances in the oil and gas industry, along with the rising price of natural gas became possible to extract natural gas from unconventional reservoirs, ie reservoirs that require greater costs and technologies in their exploration. One of the techniques that made the exploitation of this resource become economically viable, was hydraulic fracturing (Fracking), but with this technique, and some evidence, came some environmental questions. There are reports of environmental impacts in areas near the wells using this technique for extracting natural gas. This paper presents the possible impacts and what is concrete about it.
