A Novel Sensorless Drive Method of SRM based on Nonlinear Flux Model using Fourier Series

Switched Reluctance Motor (SRM) is noticed as low-cost and robust motor. However, position sensor is needed to drive SRM and it is not robust. So, position sensorless drive of SRM is strongly expected for practical use. In addition, it is necessary that torque ripple reduction control for SRM. This paper presents a novel position estimation method based on nonlinear flux model for any torque controls is proposed and it is verified through simulations and experiments.
