Synthesis and Evaluation of Novel Gas-Wetting Alteration Agent

2011
Gas-wetting agent can be used to change from liquid-wetting to gas-wetting to remove water blockage. In this paper, the fluorinated acrylate polymer is synthesized with the fluoromonomer and acrylic acid, and the dopamine is grafted into the acrylate polymers, then the gas-wetting alteration agent with strong adhesion performance is obtained. The successful incorporation of dopamine is confirmed by FTIR, XPS and UV-visible spectrum. Moreover, it is investigated by contactangle analysis that the results show that the copolymer changes the wettability of rocks from liquid-wetting to gas-wetting. The liquid imbibitions of gas/water and water/oil systems, after treatment by spontaneous, are decreased from 59% and 53.9% to 38.9% and 48.1% respectively. Furthermore, it is illustrated that the treated rocks surface has excellent washing resistance.
