Influence of Wound Stress on Magnetic Property of Toroid Sample

2020
Nowadays, wound stress of toroid sample is usually ignored, when its magnetic properties are measured. However, it does harm to magnetization property, and increase the iron loss. According to our studies, wound stress can cause a ~20% increase to iron loss of FeCoV alloy at 400Hz~1000Hz. The influence of wound stress on electrical resistivity of FeCoV alloy is about 1%, and stress is less likely to cause a significant change in classic eddy current loss component. Iron loss increases with wound stress because the static hysteresis loss and excess loss increase with wound stress. Short motor is more sensitive to the wound stress than long motor.
