Kinetic Study of Lysine Fermentation in Cane Molasses Base Medium
1992
L-lysine was first produced by direct fermentation on an industrial scale with the aid of auxotrophic mutant of Corynebacterium glutamicum and recently another process using a regulatory mutant of Brevibacterium flavum was also developed [1]. Cane molasses is generally used as a carbon sources in the industrial, production of lysine, although other carbohydrate materials such as acetic acid and ethanol can also be used [1]. In the present report, mutant Brevibacterium flavum UCL 2.60 (AECr, Hse-) which was developed from AEC[5(β-amino-ethyl)-L-cystein)] resistant mutant of ATCC 21475 was evaluated for the capability to produce lysine in the cane molasses base medium.
