[Sterilization by laparoscopy. Use of Yoon's ring].

1977
67 women who underwent voluntary sterilization were observed. Tubal occlusion was obtained by the use of Yoons silastic ring inserted via laparoscopy. The patients were between 20-45 mostly multiparous. Some requested sterilization for medical reasons and 3 for psychological reasons. 50% of patients were operated on after menstruation and 50% during amenorrhea caused by lactation. The intervention lasted an average of 10 and required 1 day of hospitalization. Only 3 patients had hemorrhage; there were no other complications nor side effects and no report of pregnancies. It is important to note that this type of intervention is potentially reversible.
