Mazahua: una nueva caldera en el Cinturón Volcánico Mexicano

This paper describes a new collapse caldera 8 km in diameter (Mazahua Caldera) located near Villa de San Felipe del Progreso (Estado de Mexico, Mexico) in the central part of the Mexican Volcanic Belt. Field data on the origin of ignimbrite sheets and identification of high-energy events near the presumed caldera rim a predictive model based on the interpretation of circular structures previously located on aerial photographs and satellite images.
