Miliary lung metastasis due to papillary thyroid carcinoma

A 20-year-old man underwent near total thyroidectomy. The histopathological examination revealed a diffuse sclerosing variant of papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC) involving both thyroid lobes. Twenty-six regional lymph nodes (cervical and upper mediastinal) were infiltrated by the neoplasm. The patient received an initial dose of 100 mCi of 131I for thyroid remnant ablation.
