2016
Th is book examines poetic practices in the arts, and their power w explore the political and ethical expressions of subjectivity and the environment. Its aim is to show how spatial, material and textual poetics and practices form affirmative ethical relations between people and places. The book brings poetics into proximity with critical theory and feminist philosophy. This involves the poetry of the visual and the performative as well as verse, and also the use of the dramatic voice in critical writing. Its chapters examine how complex expressions of our physical and psychic lives arc manifested in bodies, artefacts, dialogue, image, installation, performance and word, highlighting the value and efficacy of the poetic in facing the increasingly politicised future of culture and society.
