Strengthening of agribusiness that exploring by an unsustainably way, is the denial of peasant territoriality and transition activities agroecological present in the Chapada. The objective of this article is to highlight the agroecological transition derived of the peasant coexistence with the semiarid. The research was developed based on participatory evaluation system and DRP in Settlement Project Santa Agostinha. The peasant organization in association and group, strengthens the agroecological transition and local development of the settlement. The principal challenges are soil lacking in nutrients and access to water for human consumption, the alternatives to agricultural activities are techniques of storing water underground dam and perennial crops adapted to potential of horticulture. It is concluded that the strengthening of the peasantry in the NE, guarantees the sovereignty and peasant food security, biodiversity and creole and native seeds of the caatinga.
