Acta Paediatr Scand 64:135, 1975.–The successful treatment of pneumopericardium and cardiac tamponade in a newborn infant is presented in this case report. Alert recognition of this complication in newborn infants on intermittent positive pressure ventilation (IPPV) is of the utmost importance as prompt and adequate treatment is life-saving.
