Non-contact power supply apparatus and method for controlling same

2013
In a non-contact power supply apparatus (1), at least by means of magnetic coupling, power is transmitted to or received by, in a non-contact manner, a power supply-side circuit (10) having a first coil (L 1 ) and a power receiving-side circuit (20) having a second coil (L 2 ), and at the time of transmitting/receiving power, the magnetic pole direction of the first coil (L 1 ) becomes equal to the magnetic pole direction of the second coil (L 2 ). The power supply-side circuit (10) is provided with a power control unit (15) that drives an inverter (14) so as to generate high frequency power to be supplied to the first coil (L 1 ). The power control unit (15) drives the inverter (14) by selecting a frequency, which is higher than a resonant frequency of the power receiving-side circuit (20), said frequency being within a range wherein the number of resultant ampere turns of the first coil (L 1 ) and the second coil (L 2 ) becomes smaller than the number of resultant ampere turns obtained at a resonant frequency of the power receiving-side circuit (20).
