A clinic correlation of serum leption with liver function of chronic sever hepatitis: a case clinic study

2007
Objective: To determine serum leptin levels and study their correlations with CHO,PT and biochemical liver function in patients with chronic severe hepatitis. Methods: Fifty five chronic severe hepatitis patients were enrolled in this study.Serum leptin levels were determined by radioimmunoassay. The biochemical liver function ALT,AST,TBIL,ALB and PT were determined at the same time. The correlations of serum leptin levels with PT and biochemical liver function were assessed statistically. Results: Serum leptin concentrations wes determined by a radioimmunoassay in 55 patients with chronic sever hepatitis.Significant correlations were found between serum leptin and total cholesterol(P=-0.396,P0.05).Serum leptin and age TBIL,TBA,AST were significantly correlated.A linear logistic regression analysis was performed with serum leptin levels as dependent variable and age,TBIL,TBA,AST,ALB,ALT as independent variables in chronic severe hepatitis. The correlations of serum leptin levels with PT and biochemical liver function were assessed statistically by bivariate. Conclusions: Leptin levels were associated with severity of impaired hepatic function in patients with chronic severe hepatitis.Leptin participated injury and necrosis of hepatocyte.
