Membrane Wetting in Membrane Distillation

Abstract Membrane distillation is a desalination method for water. It uses hydrophobic membrane with temperature gradient to produce highly pure water. So, its wetting behavior is important and determined by liquid entry pressure (LEP). There are some mathematical models to predict the LEP. Any effective parameter on LEP, such as operational parameters must be considered. If a membrane is wetted, it should be recovered by dewetting methods.
