Tribologische Kontaktsimulation elastomerer Dichtungswerkstoffe

2017
The present article approaches the simulation of contact- and friction behaviour of thermoplastic polyurethanes in steel contact. Furthermore, a comparison of two widely established finite element method (FEM) software packages (Abaqusand Comsol) has been made agitated to examine the variety of behaviour of the simulated components in different simulation-environments. Experimental material properties were implemented using a hyperelastic material model. Based on the results of forgoing simulations regarding the local stress and strain distributions a coupled reciprocal sealing shaft contact simulation was established. The model allows the calculation of the lubricant pressure in the gap between shaft and seal, respectively the minimal film thickness. The shear stress and deformation behaviour from both FEM software packages significantly depend on the contact and friction parameters which are differently implemented in the individual tools. The results of the test calculations approve that there is a difference between modelled contact problems due to the different implementation of contact and friction in these two FEM software packages.
