Effect of water vapor on the compressive strength of a mineral wool insulation board

During the refurbishment of a large area of a low-pitched roof with mineral wool, the rigid boards have lost their compressive strength and could not be used. This was surprising because the material was protected from the weather by the damp-proofing layer and did not get wet. This article deals with the investigation of the possible causes.
