Background: There is still no sufficient evidence for the use of oral sildenafil for severe Pulmonary Hypertension of the Newborn, where there is no Nitric Oxide, High frequency Ventilation and/or ECMO. Despite only one proof of concept trial a few anecdotal reports and no report on safety, it is being offered in several regions as compassionate use.
