Gordon Ian Cameron

Educated in Scotland, Gordon Ian Cameron qualified as a doctor before doing national service as regimental medical officer to the 3rd Royal Tank Regiment in Hong Kong and then to the 2nd/10th Gurkha Rifles in the Malayan jungle. The latter appointment left him with an enduring high regard for those Nepalese hill men. He moved to Hessle in East Yorkshire in 1950 and was married to Jean Nelson in 1952.
