Complete genome sequence of probiotic Bacillus coagulans HM-08: A potential lactic acid producer

2016
Abstract Bacillus coagulans HM-08 is a commercialized probiotic strain in China. Its genome contains a 3.62 Mb circular chromosome with an average GC content of 46.3%. In silico analysis revealed the presence of one xyl operon as well as several other genes that are correlated to xylose utilization. The genetic information provided here may help to expand its future biotechnology potential in lactic acid production.
