The problematic nature of Dutch football

The Netherlands is one of the founding fathers of the EU. It wholeheartedly supported the extended relaunch of European integration from the mid-1980 onwards – i.e. the completion of the single market and the move towards Economic and Monetary Union and benefited above average from the freeing of market forces. Three-fourth of its trade is communautarian. Dutch companies have traditionally played a central role in marshalling European forces behind economic integration.
