Cultivation and marketing of Chrysophyllum albidum fruits in the Eastern Region of Ghana.

2007
The forests of Ghana contain many indigenous wild fruit trees whose potentials and values had often been underutilized and under-estimated Some farmers in the Eastern Region of Ghana have recognized this potential and are reaping benefits through the cultivation and marketing of some of these indigenous edible wild fruits, one of which is Chrysophyllum albidum. The fruits are sold in both rural and urban markets where there is demand for the crop. Farmers continue to increase the number of plants under cultivation and there is the need to support them through the multiplication and supply of planting materials.
