Arsen w wodach podziemnych okolic Lublina

2011
ARSENIC IN GROUNDWATERS NEAR LUBLIN Abstract. Authors describe some aspects of occurrence of arsenic in raw water used for production of drinking water in Lublin region (E Poland). Arsenic in concentrations 20–29 μg/dm 3 was discovered in one intake exploiting water from Cretaceous-Paleocene semi confined aquifer. Together with arsenic High concentrations of iron (over 3 mg/dm 3 ) and manganese (up to 0.67 mg/dm 3 ) were present. Aeration and filtration processes are implemented in order to achieve acceptable content of iron and manganese, before water is supplied to consumers. Due to co precipitation processes during treatment concentration of arsenic decreases to 3 μg/dm 3 thus treated water meets all sanitary standards.
