Henbit (Lamium amplexicaule L.) control and forage legume tolerance to selected postemergence herbicides

1996
Abstract Field studies were conducted from 1990 through 1992 to evaluate the tolerance of four clover species and one annual medic species to selected postemergence herbicides. Circle Valley medic, arrowleaf clover, crimson clover, red clover and sweetclover were injured by 2,4-D and MCPA while bentazon at 0.8 and 1.7 kg ha −1 caused consistent injury only to sweetclover. 2,4-DB at 2.2 kg ha −1 resulted in consistent injury to annual medic, arrowleaf clover, crimson clover, and sweetclover. Pronamide caused no legume injury while MCPA injured crimson clover, red clover and sweetclover.
