Level of Contamination of Salmonella Sp in White Prawns (Litopenaeus vannamei) Sold at Some Wet and Modern Market in Surabaya

The purpose of this study was to determine the contamination level of Salmonella sp. in white prawnssold atwet and modern markets. Totally of twenty-fourof white prawn sampleswere bought from wet and modern market. The bacteriological isolation and indetification of Salmonella sp. was determined by inoculation on pre-enrichment and enrichment media, followed by biochemically. The result showed that Salmonella sp. could be detected in the samples of wet market with percentage of 33.33% while the modern market with 16.67%
