Analog Signal Processing for Fiber Optic Sensor Detecting Temperature Changes

2020
This paper introduces a possible way how to provide analog signal processing of an optical signal obtained from a polarization-sensitive detector. The specific signal is received from the non-electric sensor of temperature changes, which is realized by a special type of optical fiber. The temperature change causes the change of polarization, which can be pre-processed with a polarizer and photodiode. Subsequent analog signal processing uses a Bipolar Memristive System with the Threshold voltage to detect changes in the voltage signal. The operation of the proposed circuit has been verified via PSpice simulations.
