Taillight assembly for a vehicle, wherein the vehicle (10), a rear, a top portion of a rear wheel (35) covering apron (43), a a rear part of the rear wheel (35) covering strainer cover (47) and a taillight (46) which is arranged in the region of the rear mudguard (43) and the strainer cover (47) and at least one light emitting diode (81) as the light source, wherein the backlight assembly further comprises: a light emitting diode assembly (82) for placing the at least one light emitting diode (81) thereon, a control / regulating element assembly (84) for arrangement of a control / regulating element (83) thereon for controlling / regulating the at least one light emitting diode (81), a housing (87) for jointly receiving the light-emitting module (82) and the control / regulating element assembly (84) and a lens (88) for covering the case (87), characterized, that the control / regulating element assembly (84) below the light emitting module (82) is arranged and that the lens (88) has an upper cover portion (111) for covering an upper portion of the LED module (82), a lens body portion (112) that allows the passage of light from the at least one light emitting diode (81) and a lower cover portion (113 ) for covering the control / regulating element assembly, wherein the upper cover portion (111) is covered (by the rear fender 43), the lower cover portion (113) through the strainer cover (47) is covered and the lens body between the rear fender (43 ) and the strainer cover (47) projects outwardly.
