Distortion Compensation Method on SC-FDE Modulation using for 42-GHz band UHDTV Wireless Camera

This study examines the research and development of ultrahigh-definition television (UHDTV) wireless cameras that transmits 4K and 8K videos using 42-GHz band of millimeter wave (mmWave). Our developed wireless camera can transmit video at approximately 185 Mbps using a single-carrier transmission with frequency-domain equalization (SC-FDE) modulation scheme with a 125-MHz channel bandwidth. A single-carrier modulation can offer a high level of power efficiency as it is robust to power-amplifier (PA) distortion. We additionally aim to obtain higher output power in mmWave, therefore it is important that PA operates at closer saturation point with high power efficiency. In this study, we propose distortion compensation method on SC-FDE modulation using for the mmWave UHDTV wireless camera. The performance of our method is evaluated by computer simulations.
