Synthesis and properties of Ni x /Au 1−x nanotubes

This work is dedicated to methods of obtaining Au, Ni, and Ni/Au nanotubes by template synthesis using polymer membranes, by sequential chemical and electrochemical deposition of nanotubes. Additionally in the paper their morphological and structural properties, as well as the reactivity of nanotubes have been studied in different environments. It is found that in contrast to Ni and Au nanotubes, in Ni/Au nanotubes there is the preferential texture direction (111), confirming the assumption that the preferential Ni/Au nanotube growth is along the pore walls of template.
