[The cross-border hospitals in surgical treatment of soldiers and civilians wounded in local military conflicts].

2009
The gunshot wounds in local military conflicts are the result of unstable flight of bullet with shifted center. The period of maximal transmission of energy is more and more reduced which results in the effect of interstitial explosion causing significant lesions of tissues and organs. Nowadays, the diagnostic opportunities of cross-border hospitals are significantly enlarged due to the introduction of endoscopic ultrasonography, magnetic resonance imaging, computer tomography and other methods of contemporary diagnosis. Health care organizers should take into account that in case of sufficient medical care and experienced personnel in cross-border hospitals it is possible to provide effective surgical aid to the wounded in the local military conflicts even if the hospitals are in transport blockade. Positive results in the treatment of more than 2000 wounded soldiers have been obtained.
