Localization system of underground mine trackless facilities based on Wireless Sensor Networks

2008
In this paper, a localization system based on wireless sensor networks (WSN) is proposed for facilities of underground trackless mine. Today how to monitor Facilities of underground trackless mine effectively in security is the topic which needs to solve. As the development of science and technology, GPS has been widely used in many areas. However, as a result of the surface shielding effect, the GPS signals are unable in the mine shaft to receive. WSN is composed of large numbers of low-power, inexpensive sensor devices which are densely embedded in the physical environment. Even in the underground world, wireless sensor networks also can provide bridges to the world outside The wireless sensor nodes form networks rapidly from the self-organizing way to monitor goal in the poor and even dangerous environment where the staff are unable to close. So using WSN to monitor facilities of underground trackless mine has great practical significance and application prospects.
