Unidades de conservación y asentamientos rurales: contradicciones socioambientales en la producción del mundo de la sostenibilidad

The text deals with the conflicts present in the idea of sustainability related the Conservation Units, that at first appear as public spaces related to the environmental conservation, are generally understood as an alternative to the development model centered on private property of land and use of the elements of nature while merchandise, but according to reflections accumulated in research fulfilled in the research group Territory and Environment at the Federal University of Grande Dourados, put into effect in these areas certain uses of natural patrimony. The general objective is to analyze the production of space in the process of implementation of Conservation Units and the contradictions present in the idea of nature associated with the production of “territory of conservation” inserted in the “world of sustainability”, reflecting on the possibilities of overcoming fragmentation between environmental and social sustainability presented by social organizations of the settled in the surrounding in the areas of a National Park. As a study area was defined the surroundings of the Serra da Bodoquena National Park, specifically the rural settlements of Canaa, Campinas, Guaicurus and Santa Lucia, located in the municipalities of Bonito and Bodoquena in Mato Grosso do Sul.
