Gambaran Kualitas Hidup Pada Lansia Penderita Diabetes Melitus di Wilayah Kerja Puskesmas Mojolaban Kabupaten Sukoharjo

An increase in life expectancy in Indonesia in 2018 has caused the number of elderly to increase by 24.49 million elderly. Central Java Province ranks second with the largest number of elderly in Indonesia with an elderly percentage of 12.34%. Aging causes a decrease in endurance so (that) the elderly are susceptible to diseases. Most diseases suffered by the elderly is diabetes mellitus. The presence of diabetes mellitus can affect the quality of life of the elderly. The purpose of this study was to draw an overview of the quality of life in elderly patients with diabetes mellitus in the working area of Mojolaban Health Center in Sukoharjo. The method used in this research is descriptive survey. This study was conducted in December 2019 until January 2020 with a total sample of 83 elderly taken using the proportional sample technique. This study used a DQLCTQ-R (Diabetes Quality of Life Clinical Trial Questioner- Related) questionnaire with 34 questions. The data analysis used was descriptive statistics. The results of the study showed that good quality of life is in the age group of 60-74 years old, male, (with) high school education, the farmer group, has been suffering from diabetes for >10 years, do not have other diseases, and stay with family. The most influential domain is cost concerns domain and the domain with the lowest value is public health. Hence, it can be concluded that the quality of life of elderly patients with diabetes mellitus in the working area of Mojolaban Health Center in Sukoharjo mostly have a good quality of life.
