The invention discloses a vehicle-mounted roadblock recognition system and method based on a laser imaging technique. The vehicle-mounted roadblock recognition method is characterized in that a laser photographing device is arranged on an automobile to collect roadway images, a multi-media digital signal processing (DSP) processing chip is arranged at the back end for analytical processing, object features are extracted through pattern recognition, voice prompt is performed according to the recognition result, and the recognition result can also be displayed on a display screen. The vehicle-mounted roadblock recognition system and method have the advantages that images far away for more than 1km can be collected by aid of infrared laser photographing and can be collected at night or in severe weather, road ahead conditions which cannot be seen by human eyes of automobile drivers can be seen through infrared laser photographing, the images can be analyzed by aid of a method combining the pattern recognition and a support vector machine, the result is transmitted to the drivers, so that the drivers can make judgment in advance, accidents are avoided, casualty accidents are reduced to the minimum, and life safety and property safety of the country and people are guaranteed.
