Sulfur reduction potential of the coals of the Northern Appalachian Region

1985
The coals of the Northern Appalachian Region are shown to be ideally suited to sulfur reduction through physical beneficiation. By washing 100% of the coal mined, the sulfur contents of the seams examined would have been reduced by approximately one-third, while more extensive treatment would have resulted in a sulfur reduction of almost one-half. 7 refs., 2 figs., 10 tabs.
