New devepment in Recent Modifying of LiNi1/3Co1/3Mn1/3O2 as Cathode Materials for Lithium-ion Batteries

Well defined layer structured LiNi1/3Co1/3Mn1/3O2 is one of the most promising cathode and playing an important role in lithium ion battery (LIBs). It has been widely investigated because of their stable structure, thermal stability, low cost and relatively high reversible capacity. Recently, various micro-nano morphologies of LiNi1/3Co1/3Mn1/3O2 have been confirmed to improve the electrochemical performance further. In addition, other modifying method such as surface coating with new material and improved technique have been further utilized to enhance rate capability and cycling stability of LiNi1/3Co1/3Mn1/3O2. In this minireview, new recent advancement in the modifying of LiNi1/3Co1/3Mn1/3O2 was specially emphasized, especially about the methods of micro-nano morphologies and surface coating.
