Application of Dual-port RAM in Design of Interface between PCI Bus and AVR

2011
In order to improve the speed of data transmission between PCI bus and AVR microcontroller, the high-speed data exchange between PCI bus and AVR microcontroller is realized by the dual-port RAM and sharing mode.A way of finite state machine(FSM) is used in this system to convert the PCI interface chip's local logic signal into read-write control signal andaddress data signal. The interface current is validated by the simulation tool ModelSim SE.The simulated waveform obtained is in accordance with the requirement.A method of Ping-Pong Operation(PPO) is used in this system to effectively improve the speed of data transmission between PCI bus and AVR microcontroller by alternately read and write data storage area.Practice has proved that the design method of this paper is an effective method of solving the bottleneck problem of data transmission between high-speed equipment and low-speed equipment.
