The input device comprises a character display module and a relevance prompt module, wherein the character display module is used for displaying the input letter in a character editing box of an input interface, and the relevance prompt module is used for acquiring and displaying the relevance prompt message according to the input letter before the Chinese character taking the input letter as spelling is selected. According to the input method and the input device, the input letter can be synchronously displayed; in addition, the relevant prompt message can be quickly displayed under the condition of inputting the Chinese character in a spelling way, so as to facilitate a user to fast input message in a content editing box.
