Application of waste pellets from penicillin fermentation for producing SCP by solid state fermentation(SSF)

An investigation for producing superior SCP was conducted by SSF using waste pellets from penicillin fermentation.The experimental results show that the smell in the culture process,produced by autolysed hyphae,was efficiently removed by simultaneously adding bran and residues from citric acid fermentation.Meanwhile by using yeast SSF,not only the undesirable smell of the fodder was eliminated and the good taste was produced,but also the quality of the fodder was enhanced with(61.6×)10~8 vital cells per gram(dry weight) and 48.2% of apparent in this product.
