Study of correlation between MRS and serum PSA in benign prostatic hyperplasia

2008
Objective: To evaluate the linear correlation between MRS and serum PSA in benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). Methods: Thirty patients with benign prostatic hyperplasia verified by biopsy or postoperative pathology underwent 3D MRS examination and serum PSA assay. The average ratio of (Cho+Cre)/Cit was measured in each patient. Linear correlations between the ratio of (Cho+Cre)/Cit and T-PSA, F-PSA, F-PSA/T-PSA were analyzed. Results: There was no significant correlation between the ratio of (Cho+Cre)/Cit and the T-PSA, F-PSA, F-PSA/T-PSA(The value of r respectively were 0.187, -0.125, -0.360, the value of P respectively were 0.323, 0.510, 0.051). Conclusion: There is not obvious correlation between the ratio of (Cho+Cre)/Cit and the T-PSA, F-PSA, F-PSA/T-PSA in patients with benign prostate hyperplasia.
