FCoE virtual link fault detection method

The invention discloses an FCoE virtual link fault detection method comprising that: after an FCoE device sends one FCoE message on a virtual link, a virtual link idle timer is set; if an FCF or an ENode receives data before the virtual link idle timer is overtime, the virtual link idle timer is deleted; otherwise, a virtual link fail timer is set by the FCoE device if the virtual link idle timer is overtime, and a message for maintaining an FCoE virtual link is sent to an opposite terminal FCoE device; and when the set virtual link fail timer is overtime, the FCoE device detects that a fault occurs on the FCoE virtual link between the FCoE device and the opposite terminal FCoE device if the FCoE device does not receive a feedback of the opposite terminal FCoE device. The message for maintaining the FCoE virtual link is sent according to a smaller cycle when the virtual link is idle so that a failure situation of the FCoE virtual link can be rapidly detected and network band width is not affected.
