Pion-electroproduction peak in the energy spectrum of the reaction {sup 4}He(e, e`)

The energy spectra of electrons inelastically scattered by a low-temperature {sup 4}He nuclear target are measured in the region of the {Delta} resonance. The results are used to determine the position of the pion-electro-production peak as a function of the invariant mass. The experimental data are obtained for 4-momentum transfers in the range 0.025{<=}Q{sup 2}{<=}0.225(GeV/c){sup 2}. The results of experimental studies are compared with predictions based on the shell model with the harmonic-oscillator potential. 11 refs., 3 figs., 1 tab.
