COMPLEX FORMATE THORIUM COMPOUNDS

Studies were made of physical and chemical properties of complex thorium formate compounds and new thorium complexes of CsSTATh(HCO/sub 2/)/sub 5/!, Cs/ sub 2/STATh(HCO/sub 2/)/sub 6/!, Cs/sub 3/ STATh(HCO/sub 2/)/sub 7/!, and Cs/sub 4/STATh(HCO/sub 2/)/sub 8/! were prepared. A gradual saturation of thorium formate compounds resulted in separate transitional series. The stability of thorium hydrate formate solutions increased in transition from lower genetic formate series to the higher ones. (R.V.J.)
