Radioecological State of Marine and Land Environments in the Region of Guba Andreeva

2015
The effect of a radiologically hazardous object – a temporary storage site for radioactive wastes in Guba Andreeva – on the radioecological state of its ambient environment is analyzed. Data on the concentration of Cs and Sr in the components of the land and marine ecosystems of the region are presented. It is shown that the radiation background and concentration of the technogenic radionuclides in the components of the environment are low and correspond to the background values characteristic for the Kola Peninsula and the coastal sea area. The effect of the waste storage site on the state of the ambient environment is very small and localized on sections adjoining the perimeter of the sanitary-protection zone.
